Try to actively drink a ton of water and other replenishing fluids in the two days before you fly, that way you don’t have to try to catch up the day of your flight. For a super source of hydration try a sports drink. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with how refreshed you feel and, since you hydrated ahead of time, you won’t feel like a pitcher of water has engorged your bladder, turning you into that guy that got up “like 20 times” on the two-hour flight. Great advice!

Under the 8 annoying types of travelers list - #3 is why I don't fly with my kids. I know how to parent them, but even the best behaved of children have meltdowns once in a while, and even the best parents have kids who may choose to act up once in a blue moon. It's not always completely under the parents control if a two year old throws a tantrum. Yes I agree that parents shouldn't just let kids run wild on the plance, etc., but there can be moments of difficulty for any parents. And that is why I am waiting until my kids are older to fly with them. (Luckily we live close to family).
