Traveling is one of my very favorite things to do. During my college years and for a few years after I spent a lot of time living abroad. Those were very happy days for me. I love airports. I love flying. I love checking into hotels. I especially love receiving a new stamp in my passport. AirlineTickets.org launched this summer and is your "Go To" blog for airline reviews and travel tips so you can make a sound decision while traveling. Their mission is to help travelers quickly choose an airline based off convenience, low cost, amenities, and a fit. I learned: One way for airlines to become “green” before alternative fuels take off is to reduce fuel use now. Considering the Airline Transportation Association (ATA) ranks fuel as the number two cost for an airline, fuel use has become a pretty important economical consideration as well. In the third quarter of 2008 alone, the ATA reported that the average expenditure on fuel for U.S.-based airlines was 35 percent.

The human fee is ridiculous... so now in a down economy, you want people to keep their jobs and keep your customers happy.... Lets charge the passengers extra money to talk with someone.
Loved taking a peek at the most luxurious ways to travel. Maybe someday I'll get to travel on Virgin Atlantic Airlines. But for now, I'd love to win the $200 Southwest Airline voucher. My hubby, three kiddos and I always fly SWA when we go to Texas to visit my family. :)
I would love to go to Fiji and stay in the hotel that is 40ft underwater. How spectacular would that be.

I just loved reading the article about the 7 great sites to see! I have seen some but need to see more! I love to travel--anywhere!
My favorite tip: Air travel brings enough headaches before you even reach the gate, so don’t compound those problems by being uncivil; every passenger is in the same position, literally, and deserves the same respect and space as you.

I love the tip about remembering how much parking can cost after several days of your car sitting at the airport and that this can be easily saved by getting a ride to the airport, i.e., family member, cab, etc.! My husband and I are sticklers for doing this whenever we can! Great tip!

I learned "to actively drink a ton of water and other replenishing fluids in the two days before you fly, that way you don’t have to try to catch up the day of your flight." Typically I limit my beverage intake while flying because I do not want to be in a position where I will have to use the bathroom on the plane!

If I weren't traveling with kids I think i would want to get bumped off of an over full flight for this reason-
As of 2008, airlines have been mandated by the government to pay $800 – double the amount of money they used to – to passengers who aren’t re-booked within in four hours.
I thought it was hilarious that the shortest flight is from Westray to Papa Westray -2 minutes/1.7 miles! I guess it's because it's in the Scottish Isles...but I wonder if a ferry wouldn't be just as fast...
