This has been one of the most fun reviews I have been lucky enough to participate in. Aunt Else's Æbleskiver sent a starter kit to review. The kit includes everything you need to make yummy danish ebleskivers or filled pancakes including the cast iron pan, mix, handle hot pad and chopstick for turning! It took a few tries to get the hang of flipping the pancakes, but after watching the demonstration video on Aunt Else's website I got the hang of it very quickly. We made Æbleskiver using apples, pudding and a rich cream cheese filling I whipped up. We dusted the pancakes with powdered sugar and topped with syrup. These are a new family favorite! I'm pretty sure that I saw Bobby Flay do a throwdown with these and would love to try a cream cheese and blueberry Danish pancake, but anything would probably be good inside them!
The item I would love to own would be the starter kit so I could begin making these right away and I would fill them with apple butter or the Ginger Pear Jam mentioned in the Midwest Holiday Basket at Aunt Else's.
The Midwest Holiday Basket looks great! I would fill them with the traditional apple slice.
