163 BabyCakes NYC Cookbook Giveaway **CLOSED**

People have traveled miles across the country to get their hands on baked goods from BabyCakes NYC Bakery!  Why?  BabyCakes NYC products are vegan and gluten free, but taste delicious!  After years of experimenting and I am sure a ton of money down the drain bakery owner and author, Erin McKenna, successfully mastered an entire menu of baked items that do not use any dairy or egg products.  These baked goods are perfect for those with food allergies or struggle with food sensitivities.  What I love most about this cookbook is that every recipe is made without refined sugar!!
I must admit I had my doubts about how the recipes in this book would taste.  After all I don't have any food allergies and really love sugar.  I do know that I feel a lot better when I eat healthy and I am responsible for my children's health.  I made a commitment to have my family eat less sugar.  Recipes from the BabyCakes NYC cookbook are a  tasty way to satisfy your dessert indulgence. 
I am not going to lie.  I opened the cookbook and had not even heard of half the products listed in her recipes.  I was able to find everything I needed at Whole Foods Market or on Amazon.  These desserts are definitely more costly to make than your traditional white flour and refined sugar desserts, but we all know healthy products just cost more! 
The first recipe I tried out were the Raspberry Scones.  These were very simple to make and took almost no time at all.  The recipe over all is great.  The scone seemed more like a muffin top than a traditional scone to me, but it was very delicious.  The raspberry was a little tart for my children, so next time I will use blueberries.  Next up I tried the chocolate cupcakes.  Again very simple to make.  My husband tasted one of these after about 10 minutes out of the oven and he said he could not taste a difference at all from a traditional chocolate cupcake.  The true test is if the kids will eat them.  My son, the pickiest eater ever, ate two of these.  I did not mention at all that these cupcakes were different in any way than previous ones we ate.  My daughter on the other hand wasn't as impressed, but she is two years old and may not have been hungry.  I will try them out on her again.  Overall, this is a great recipe book especially for families with food allergies!  BabyCakes NYC is giving away one cookbook!!  Giveaway ends at midnight on September 28 PST!
