332 Orient Mako Giveaway: Is it Superior to the Seiko Monster? **CLOSED**

Are you aware of the heated debate over which dive watch is superior between the Orient Orange Mako Automatic Dive Watch and the Seiko Monster? Since my husband is a scuba diver, on the search and rescue team and on a water rescue team for the fire department I need the best dive watch out there! The Orient Mako Automatic Dive Watch is water resistant up to 200 meters, holds a power reserve of 40 hours, needs no batteries (wahoo!), comes with a leather strap and screw-down crown to prevent water invasion. Apparently the orange face of the Orient Mako watch is the easiest color to see under water, but I love orange for its masculine esthetic beauty! One extremely lucky blogger will receive the Orange Make Automatic Dive Watch compliments of Orient Watch USA ! To enter, check out the online debate between the Seiko Monster and the Orient Mako Dive Watch. Then come back and make a comment on which one you feel is superior and why." Giveaway ends at midnight on November 1 PST!

What a great give away! My husband dives and would love this as a Christmas gift. Since the two are so similar, I'd have to agree with the debate poster--the better looking Mako gets my vote!

I believe the Seiko Monster is the winner because of it functionality!

Great giveaway. Though I currently only snorkle, I hope that my father and I can take the dive course soon!

The debate poster did a fantastic job of comparing. Since they are both so similar, I would go with the Mako because it is still cheaper yet appears to retain all the same features!

My husband is a diver too so I found this interesting. I would vote for the Seiko Monster because it won in the functionality category. If you want a dive watch, I believe functionality would be the most important key to picking your watch!

My only contribution when picking a car is picking the color (okay, I'll admit I'm exaggerating quite a bit) so I'll stick to it and pick based on aesthetics: Orient Mako. DH'll be delighted if I win...

Living on the lake a waterproof watch would be fantastic for my husband since he spends so much time waterskiing, diving, swimming, kayaking, sailing, just to name a few activities he is active in. The Orient Mako most definitely gets my vote because it is less expensive than the Seiko, the Mako's face is much simpler in face design, less "busy" than the Seiko making it much easier to read, this is so important when under water. I like that the Orient's appearance is more versatile for a variety of activities.

I also like that the Orient won out in functionality, you want a watch that is going to be dependable and meticulous in keeping time. This final fact won me out!

Thanks so much for the chance to enter.

After reading the article, I'd have to go with the Orient. It wins out in Aesthetics and Movement and comes extremely close in the debate over Functionality. Although I think Functionality is the most important feature when it comes to a dive watch, there wasn't a significant difference in the article's reporting to show the Orient was "inferior"
